Chiska's first "bigger" quilt quilted on her machine and best binding ever!

Kathy brought a caponizing set that was her Dads

Kathy brought pictures of some beautiful applique blocks that

her sister-in-law, Judy had made.

Carol made this darling mini quilt to display the pins they've collected from the national parks.

She showed us how to  tie like she did this one

You stitch into the seam allowance so it doesn't come through the top.

Here is an example of a tying template.  And the shirt that started it all!

Carol has put together this amazing quilt 

from some Grandmother's Flower Garden flowers that were her Grandmother's.

I missed getting a picture, but she finished another beautiful tote too.

Kathy went on a trip recently to the Northeast with the Senior Circle

She visited the Sandwich Glass Museum 

and aquired this beatiful glassblown pumpkin

Here's the flower appliques, but the color isn't very true.

They are much softer pink in real life.

Jeri finished this lovely, sparkly, soft baby blanket during our meeting

It's so pretty!

Jan brought the antique quilt she's working on hand quilting

(the blocks are about 100 years old)

That was our fun for the evening!

Next month Mary is on the schedule fo

 teaching Victorian Tying (it doesn't show through the top).

We loved the backlit stained glass effect.

She's also working on these itty bitty granny squares.

Jeri made this awesome top for a friend of hers.

It's the same pattern as her bicycle quilt.

Mary taught us her fast and easy way to bind a quilt

Start in the middle

Sew within a 1/4" of the edge.

Fold it straight up and then down.

and then down.

Press the raw edge end  over 1/4"

Fold it down

Slip the other end into it

Like this:

This is the way you prep your fabric

Cut 3 inches the width of the fabric

Keeping them folded cut at a 45 degree angle.

Sew edges together like this;

They will line up perfectly.

Show and Tell from Carol's Porch!

I love this picture because not only does it show

 Kathy's beautiful quilt and the yummy snacks we shared, 

but Kathy's grandson who came too!

Her Mom did an amazing job hand quilting it.

I don't know how I managed to not get a picture of the front, 

but there are 3 handmade buttons on the front.

Carol gave us a fun house tour and we were able to see some

 wonderful family treasures and her gorgeous deck/patio's.
